About Me

Psychologist in Potchefstroom

I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice.  I completed my four-year undergraduate degree, majoring in Psychology, followed by an Honours Degree in Psychology at the Northwest University.   I went on to complete a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology at the Northwest University.

I completed my internship at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital in Gauteng where I rendered psychological and assessment services, not only in a forensic setting but also to an adult, adolescent and child populace.

After qualifying as Clinical Psychologist, I finished my community service at the Department of Correctional Services in Krugersdorp, where I specialised in Suicide and Recidivism Risk Assessment. I successfully conducted trauma debriefing and led substance abuse and depression support groups.  I also strongly focused on individual psychotherapy for prisoners, their families and correctional officers.

I initially started my private practice at Life Groenkloof Hospital, while lecturing part time at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP).  I respectively consulted at Denmar Psychiatric Hospital, Akeso Arcadia Clinic and Netcare Unitas Hospital (Emergency Room).  I was associated with Evexia Psychiatric Day Clinic where I conducted group psychotherapy and assisted with divorce mediation and the drafting of parenting plans.  For the last two years, I was based at Midstream Mediclinic in Gauteng.

In 2020, I permanently relocated to Potchefstroom. I have a passion for in-patient care and treatment, and are now fully and passionately devoting my time working at Witrand Psychiatric Hospital in Potchefstroom.  I render private psychological services, after hours and over weekends, at M-Care Medical Centre, where psychotherapy is my main focus.
